Happy New Year! Two weeks into the new year and it’s been full on hitting the ground running. Took in 2020 in the fantastic traditional Hogmanay celebrations in Grantown-on-Spey which are held in the town Square. Fireworks, piper and traditional fiddle player with crowd participation dancing in the street.
Since then I’ve been looking for a suitable vehicle to taking visitors round our beautiful country. Last Friday I found a good buy in Inverness and tomorrow after some frantic searching for insurance, I collect a Ford Turneo nine seater which has come all the way from Shetland. Also been in contact with a local sign maker in Inverness and received the first draft of the livery on the vehicle. This will be completed in the next few days and I’ll post the results as soon as possible.
Meanwhile next week my studies with the University of the Highlands and Islands North Highlands Tourist Guiding course and Green Badge start on Tuesday in Inverness with two full days of presentations from the Scottish Tourist Guides Association.
The next few months are going to fly by and really looking forward to welcoming my first visitors to Strathspey.
