Well worth a visit is the Highland Folk Museum near Newtonmore.

Here you can experience the social conditions in the Highlands from the 18th century, around the time of the Battle of Culloden to the mid 20th century. The local Grantown Museum also gives an insight into the Clan Grant and history of the area.

The excellent Clan Macpherson museum also in Newtonmore, tells the story of clan life, history and tradition pre and post the ‘45 Jacobite Rising. A bespoke guided tour around these sites will bring your ancestral heritage to life… enhancing your knowledge of their lives.
